NEWS: Take flight to a whole new world with ‘Disney’s Aladdin’ – Milton Keynes Theatre, Spring 2024

 

One lamp and three wishes will make the possibilities infinite when Disney’s Aladdin flies in to enchant audiences at Milton Keynes Theatre for four weeks this spring.

Theatregoers can expect magic, comedy and spectacle from this critically acclaimed Broadway and West End musical, which is touring the UK and Ireland for the very first time. The show is floating in for an extended stay in Milton Keynes, with performances from Wednesday 24 April to Sunday 19 May.

This energetic adaptation of the 1992 animated film has already been seen by over 14 million people worldwide. Now is your chance to experience the hustle and bustle of Agrabah before hopping aboard the magic carpet. Time to escape to a whole new world!

Disney’s Aladdin features classic songs from the film, such as ‘One Jump Ahead’ and ‘Friend Like Me’, as well as brand new music by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Sister Act). The new lyrics are by Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), Tim Rice (The Lion King, Evita) and Chad Beguelin (The Prom, The Wedding Singer).

The show is directed and choreographed by Tony and Olivier award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon). It is designed by scenic designer Bob Crowley, lighting designer Natasha Katz, costume designer Gregg Barnes and sound designer Ken Travis.

Performances in Milton Keynes will star Gavin Adams as Aladdin, Desmonda Cathabel (Miss Saigon, From Here To Eternity, ITV’s Mamma Mia I Have A Dream) as Princess Jasmine and Yeukayi Ushe (Disney’s The Lion King, Kinky Boots, Motown The Musical) as Genie.

They are joined by Adam Strong (Rock of Ages, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Jafar, Angelo Paragoso (The Reporter, Miss Saigon) as Iago, Jo Servi (Dreamgirls, The Color Purple) as Sultan, Nay-Nay (Once On This Island) as Kassim, Adam Taylor (Cabaret, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Omar and Nelson Bettencourt (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables) as Babkak.

 

 

Running time: Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including an interval.

This production contains theatrical smoke and fog effects as well as strobe lighting and loud sound during part of the show.

Disney’s Aladdin is at Milton Keynes Theatre from Wednesday 24 April to Sunday 19 May. The UK tour continues until 5 January 2025.
