NEWS: Love life after Romeo at ‘& Juliet’ – Milton Keynes Theatre, Spring 2025

Flip the script on the greatest love story ever told when pop-infused, romantic-comedy musical & Juliet visits Milton Keynes Theatre this spring.

The smash-hit show shakes up the Bard’s tale, responding to the question: what would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo? Theatregoers can expect to be whisked away on a fabulous journey of self-discovery as Juliet ditches her famous ending for a fresh beginning.

Juliet’s second-chance story bursts to life through a powerful playlist of pop anthems by Swedish songwriter, producer and singer Max Martin. Having worked with some of the biggest names in music over the last three decades, he is responsible for chart-topping hits from the likes of Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, Ariana Grande…

Prepare for a joyous jukebox musical that proves there is life after Romeo.

& Juliet was created by David West Read (an Emmy-winning writer from Canadian television sitcom Schitt’s Creek) and is considered a roaring global success. It premiered in Manchester in September 2019 then thrilled audiences in London’s West End between November 2019 and March 2023, receiving three Olivier awards and six WhatsOnStage awards. The Broadway production broke box office records. And the Australian production had standing ovations in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney before touring to Singapore.

Performances in Milton Keynes will star Jay McGuiness (best known as one fifth of boyband The Wanted and winner of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2015) as Shakespeare and Lee Latchford-Evans (best known as one fifth of pop phenomenon Steps) as Lance.

They will be joined by Gerardine Sacdalan (Juliet), Lara Denning (Anne), Sandra Marvin (Angelique), Jordan Broatch (May), Kyle Cox (François), Jack Danson (Romeo), Harriet Caplan-Dean (Eleanor), Alexander Kranz (Lennox), Andile Mabhena (Augustine), Liam Morris (Richard), Psalms-Nissi Myers-Reid (Lucy), Michael Nelson (Henry), Toni Paise (Swing), Katie Ramshaw (Nell and Lady C), Aaron Shales (Gregory), Rosie Singha (Judith), Nia Stephen (Imogen) and Samuel Wilson-Freeman (Swing and resident director/dance captain).
