Ballet Teacher: Experience

Sharing the joy of dancing with students of all ages and abilities.

I am a first class honours graduate and registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (BA (Hons), RAD RTS).

My work in dance education has included providing sessions for mainstream schools; training and assessing post-16 students on BTEC and diploma courses; and teaching for studios, academies and schools in the private sector.

I coach students for auditions, examinations and performances. I am experienced in teaching the preparatory, graded and vocational ballet syllabi from both the RAD and BBO Dance, in addition to non-syllabus classes. I am also familiar with devising and delivering story-based lessons for toddlers, as well as teaching junior tap and jazz.

Other highlights include teaching ballet technique to competitive freestyle dancers, working with adults of all ages and abilities, and adapting classical ballet repertoire for workshops and showcases.

I am a Silver Swans Licensee, a certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher and trained in pointe shoe fitting. I have an enhanced DBS; sport, recreation and leisure liability insurance; and level 3 qualifications in first aid, child protection and fitness.
